ASIFA-Hollywood has set the date for its 40th annual Annie Awards. The big night for the animation biz will be Jan. 26, at UCLA's Royce Hall.

ASIFA-Hollywood has added a couple of new awards to the mix. In addition to the kudos for feature, TV production, commercials, shorts and vidgames, the org has added a student film category. It has also replaced its Member's Favorite Feature category with a new Winsor McCay Member's Choice Award. All ASIFA members worldwide, professionals and non-pros, will be able to vote via a special ballot on the org's website.

Last year, ASIFA revamped the voting rules so that all nominees were selected by panels of animation professionals. Only professional members of ASIFA-Hollywood are eligible to vote on the awards themselves, other than the Member's Choice Award.

Entries may be submitted from Sept. 3 to Oct. 14. Noms will be announced Dec. 3. Only productions released in the U.S. between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31 are eligible to enter, with the exception of shorts, student films and TV commercials not released Stateside.
